Live Wires NZ have published a contemporary Kiwi Alphabet card set designed by Tanya Wolfkamp of Wolfkamp & Stone. The A5 sized, ABC flash card set, was launched at the Auckland Spring Gift Fair earlier this month and the reaction was enthusiastic. The cards are printed quality 325 gsm card with die-cut rounded corners and packaged in practical shrink wrapping, perfect for posting as a gift to friends in New Zealand or overseas.
Below are some ideas on how to brighten up your child’s room using the New Zealand Alphabet frieze. I am an impatient photographer and stylist so didn’t quite get my measurements right. If you want equal length lines I recommend two string lengths of 1.8 to 2 m each. I used reusable small hooks to secure the lines and small craft pegs to hang the cards.
Blu-tack is a good way to create a more free-form arrangement (see below). They look fantastic as an alphabet group or use selected letters to spell your child’s name. They can be used as a teaching aid in the home, classroom or kindergarten, or as home decor to instantly transform a child’s room.
