Live Wires NZ have published a New Zealand advent calendar designed by Tanya Wolfkamp of Wolfkamp & Stone. The artwork was created using a scraperboard at half scale and enlarged to A3 size giving a hand-blocked print look of a windy summer day by the sea.
SPOILER ALERT! If you don’t want to know what is behind the windows don’t look at the image below. I thought it would be helpful to name some of the images so kids (and parents) could identify the NZ native flora and fauna. Although hedgehogs are a pest, baby hedgehogs are very cute so couldn’t resist adding them.
A great gift to post overseas and a fun and educational way to count down the days until Christmas.
